“One Hit Wonder, The Untold Story Behind the Most Expensive Photograph in Motocross History" is now available to read for FREE at ⁣ ⁣ We all know the photo seen above. (And if you don’t, you have an even bigger reason to read). It was immortalized on a billboard along the I-405 in California and also on a 6-ft. long poster that is still highly sought after (and very rare) 22 years after it was first printed. ⁣ ⁣ This was a very fun story to report on and I urge you read it (and, remember, it’s FREE!). ⁣ ⁣ Jason Weigandt and I chatted about the story behind the story and more on his Exhaust Podcast, which can be found on the Racer X Podcast Network. ⁣ ⁣ And if you’re a print subscriber to Racer X, you’re in for a real treat because, for the first time ever, the original color photograph that Oakley made into their now iconic advertisement is being published. ⁣ ⁣ This issue’s pull out poster is the original image that David St. Onge shot at the 1997 Pontiac Supercross. As Davey Coombs told me for the article, “It’s like seeing the Zapruder Film for the first time!"⁣ ⁣ #racerx #rickycarmichael @dcracerx @jasonweigandt @racerxonline @rickycarmichael #supercross #motocross #mysterysolved #wewentfast
